Two of my favourite images from last nights Zygote Festival in Sleaford. Fantastic lighting design aerial performance from the gorgeous Alex. It was really nice to get back into doing some photography work too, and I love the images produced.
Well done and massive thankyou to the guys from Carre's Grammar School for creating the Zygote 'pod'. It worked out brilliantly!

Some shots of the work I completed with community artists on making withee lanterns and a large withee cocoon structure in Sleaford a few weeks back in preparation for the Arts NK Zygote festival. with the festival coming up on the 20th of this month, thought I should probably post them! Really enjoyed getting into schools and working with a range of ages, including a small workshop with some primary school teachers. Always interesting to find out how the work we teach them will be approached in schools and families in the community. Will try and get some shots of the final production and the school's contribution of lanterns too on the day!

Some awesome shots of the sign on set I made a few weeks back. Really looking forward to seeing a few of them on the final footage. exciting!

'Variete' Youth Music Theatre UK

Just finished the two week programme as Assistant designer for Youth Music Theatre UK's production of Variete! It went by so quickly, but I got to meet some great people and make loads of lovely things. Including this awesome body double for our lead role who had to be hung in the first scene. I spent the duration of the run sitting him in seats next to the cast and packing him away in a suitcase for travel just to freak everyone out as he was so realistic! Absolutely loved it, great experience and very much recommended!
Nice old review from the Financial times. Lovely job,

Getting back into the swing of things by volunteering to help prop make for polymath pictures this afternoon.

I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. Amazing how you can transform cardboard into wood just by rendering it nicely.

Sign for a French tavern in an up and coming web series, which I will be avidly promoting on here in September!

So with the press night of Sweeney Todd at Lakesde Arts Centre in Nottingham over and done with, I actually feel quite sad to say goodbye to it! The show looked fantastic and everyone looked like they really enjoyed themselves. Its been a tough few months but overall its looking like a sell out show! So anyone reading this from the local area should definitely get online and check for tickets, as its not often you get to see youth theatre volunteers thrown from a two metre platform mid song. Its really gripping to watch.
Here's some of the show photos from last night, courtesy of Nottingham Post and New Street Theatre Company.

Managed to grab some time with the universities lighting box to get some great shots of my graduate work before it had to be scrapped. Unfortunately as theres no room in my suitcase to carry the models around they had to be binned, so I was thankful for the chance to get some interesting shots of the work! building up my portfolio is coming along nicely. Speaking of which, I wish the best of luck to my friends and colleagues entering the Linbury prize this week. I hope the judges enjoy your designs and sketches as much as I have done!

Running a props department in my flat at the moment! Paint and varnish all over the place as well as stacks of props waiting to be taken to rehearsals. Its all rather chaotic. Can't wait to finally get Sweeney up and running so I can get started on the YMT production of Variete this august. All is going very well at the moment and painting is very theraputic!
